Eye tracking, the process of measuring ocular activity, is a research method that finds wide application in psychology, communication research and linguistics. In order to develop empirical competences of Centre for Language Evolution members, we organise a weekly workshop in eye tracking which is aimed at developing skills related to using eye tracking in studying static (text, image) and dynamic (films) stimuli. The workshop involves:
• learning the construction of an eye tracker (EyeLink 1000+);
• calibrating the eye tracker;
• designing an eye tracking experiment;
• analysing & interpreting data.
